- First I've heard that Bush is responsible for "Operation Fast And Furious." Given the fact that Obama has blamed Bush for damn-near every bad thing to ever befall our country, if that were the case we certainly would have heard about it.

- Since no one read the bill, and Republicans were largely barred from the process, the Democrats could have put almost anything in there. But the proposal itself was such a bad idea, that even centrist Democrats like Ben Nelson had a hard time getting on board (recall "Cornhusker Kickback").

GeoSapper, apparently you are one of the few who is still employed or are wealthy without any concern about those that are suffering. I am retired and am doing just find, however I see many who are suffering. I am not foolish to think that we are currently adequately funding the safety net to take care of our citizens who are suffering. You must be living secluded among the rich.

It took World War 2 to get us out of the depression we were in. It is just a conservative theory that government spending made it worse. Do you want a war to get us out of what may evolve into a depression.
